:: press release :: DVD Release of Final Concert of Rock Pioneer Larry Norman NEW YORK, NY :: June 9, 2008 :: It was August 2007. Although rock pioneer Larry Norman wasn't doing too much touring due to health issues, he had agreed to appear for what would become his final solo concert... A performance that was filmed by the folks at CubeCity, and is due out on DVD later this year... In February 2008, Larry Norman passed away at the age of 60. His mark on the music industry has spanned decades. His music was an influence on such diverse artists as U2, John Mellencamp, and the Pixies. In 2001, he was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, alongside Elvis Presley. The footage from the August 2007 Concert was edited down. On seeing the footage, Larry Norman's brother Charles commented: "It's nice to spend an hour or so with my brother... even if it's just on DVD." The DVD of that final solo concert is being put out by Solid Rock Productions, Inc. It is expected to go on sale this summer at www.larrynorman.com.
