He has also been featured on "Guiding Light", "One Life to Live", and "America's Most Wanted". Off-Broadway Theatre Credits include "Irish Ain't Smilin'" (Lisp), "The Insanity of Mary Girard" (Mr. Hatcher), "Desert Storm: The First 28 Days" (Private Herder), and "Television Anesthesia" (Ed). INTERVIEW Q&A :: Joseph Halsey On his role as James in the film "Dear J"... Q: How did you get your start in film? A: I have always wanted to entertain people. I have been fortunate to achieve that through many different vehicles….including film. I enjoy provoking thought and feelings in people…film is one of the best mediums for that. Q: How do you choose which roles you accept? A: 1) How does the role affects me on a personal level? 2) Does the role have the essence to provoke thought in other people? And finally... 3) Will my mom approve of it? Q: What “lesson from mom” do you still live by today? A: When I was in my teens and going out on my first date with a young lady…My Uncle Charlie told me to treat her with the same respect that I would want any man to treat my mother…and I will be fine. I have applied that to all people since. Q: What did you think when you read the script? A: Not really much to “think” about….it was more of what do I have to do to land the role of James. Q: What was the challenge of playing the role of James? A: Making James as strong as his is weak. Q: What was the most challenging scene for you? A: Ask Mann.
